Your session fee for the session (50 minutes) is $240.00.
If you are attending sessions under a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 sessions in the calendar year. (Out of Pocket Expense: $98.15)
Face to Face sessions occur in the heart of Ballarat at 604 Mair Street. Attending sessions face to face gives you an opportunity to take a break from your usual commitments and prioritise working on your mental health in a supported environment.
Each individual has a preference for if they prefer to attend sessions in person or by telehealth. The benefits of face to face is that it allows for you and your therapist to share a space free of distraction. Some people find that they can engage In experiential exercises such as mindfulness and imagery easier where others value the safety a space external to your everyday environment, others find it easier to connect face to face.
Online appointments work in exactly the same way as a face to face appointments, but therapy is delivered via the internet using video conferencing, such as Zoom or telephone. Telehealth sessions can occur from anywhere in Australia.
The benefits to Telehealth are that it can help if you have a barriers that get in the way of allowing you to make regular appointments. This may include a busy schedule, parenting responsibilities, mobility difficulties, health concerns or any other barriers. Telehealth works really well for individuals who live outside of Ballarat, especially those in regional and remote areas.
I understand the journey to becoming a registered psychologist is a long one, requiring plenty of additional support. This is why it is important for me to support provisional psychologists with their studies and aim to provide a safe space for supervisee’s to learn. I offer supervision of provisional psychologists on the 4+2 and 5+1 pathways.
